Sheena Leigh is a ritual fire artist, aerialist, and burlesque performer based in LA, fusing sensuality and spectacle.
Hi, I’m Sheena Leigh — a fire artist, aerialist, dancer, and performance coach based in Los Angeles. I light things on fire (on purpose), spin through the air, strip for art, and teach people how to move with confidence, intention, and a deeper connection to their bodies.
My work lives somewhere between ritual and rebellion. It’s sensual, graceful, a little dangerous, and fully alive.
I started dancing when I was three — jazz, tap, ballet — the full sparkle-and-bunhead combo. I grew up in Minneapolis, performing and competing from a young age, and was choreographing mainstage work by high school. I even got to perform an original piece at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival before heading to Hofstra University to study dance and theater.
My life hasn’t been linear, but it’s always been led by movement and fire. After college, I returned to Minnesota to train, audition, and start working professionally — first on stage and screen, and eventually relocating to LA, where I could stretch creatively in new directions.
Since landing in LA, I’ve performed with the Labyrinth of Jareth, Astra Dance Theater, and ElevAtion Aerial. I’ve danced in music videos, created work with the band AL1CE for over a decade, spun fire on festival stages, and co-produced a long-running cabaret show.
I’ve toured New Zealand twice with the World Festival of Magic, performed at private events, corporate parties, weddings, and wild desert stages — from immersive fire acts to LED poi, lollipop aerial, and bubble-lit burlesque. Whether I’m lighting up a 250-person gala or dancing under the stars at Burning Man, I’m there to enchant, awaken, and connect.
I teach because helping people tap into their power lights me up. I offer private lessons, group workshops, and corporate fire-eating and burlesque experiences. Whether we’re working on fire safety, strength and flexibility, act creation, or learning to take up space, I teach with a focus on consistency, communication, and joy.
I don’t believe in pushing through pain — I believe in coming home to your body. My teaching is rooted in yoga, pilates, and calisthenics, and I work with all kinds of students: beginners, professionals, athletes, burlesque performers, and people rediscovering their bodies after trauma.
People have described my work as graceful, ritualistic, sensual, and playful. I’d say it’s a mix of movement and magic — a practice of showing up fully, feeling more, and remembering we’re all human-ing together.
I want my work to soften hearts, spark wonder, and remind us that creating something — anything — is a holy act. Especially in this world.
If you’re into that kind of thing, we’ll probably get along.
